Special Issue Information

In modern society, the pursuit of high-quality building environments has made acoustic comfort an increasingly critical demand. With the acceleration of urbanization, noise pollution from transportation, industrial activities, and daily life poses severe challenges to human health, work efficiency, and quality of life. Traditional sound insulation methods often face limitations in terms of performance, sustainability, or adaptability to complex building scenarios, highlighting the urgency for innovative solutions.

This Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research and advancements in sound insulation materials and technologies tailored for building environments. It will explore novel materials, such as high-performance composites, eco-friendly porous materials, and multifunctional smart materials, as well as innovative technologies including advanced acoustic modelling, precision testing methods, integrated insulation system design, and energy-efficient sound control strategies. Additionally, the Issue will focus on practical applications across diverse building types, from residential and office spaces to healthcare facilities and educational institutions, addressing specific acoustic challenges in each context.

As the importance of healthy and comfortable building environments continues to rise, the role of advanced sound insulation solutions becomes indispensable. This Special Issue is dedicated to promoting knowledge exchange in this field, bridging the gap between academic research and industrial practice, and providing valuable insights for addressing real-world noise problems. It will serve as a platform to inspire further innovation, drive technological progress, and contribute to the development of more livable and sustainable built environments.
