Launch of Advances in Lipoprotein(a) Research — A Dedicated Journal for a Critical Cardiovascular Risk Factor
We are delighted to announce the official launch of Advances in Lipoprotein(a) Research (ALR), a new open access journal published by Science Exploration Press that is exclusively dedicated to Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]—one of the most important yet understudied cardiovascular risk factors in modern medicine. Lp(a) has long posed a unique challenge in cardiovascular and lipidology research, owing to its genetic complexity, resistance to lifestyle interventions, and its growing recognition as an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, calcific aortic valve disease, and thrombosis. ALR seeks to become the leading platform for sharing the latest discoveries, therapeutic strategies, and clinical implications of Lp(a) biology.
We are honored to welcome Professor Gerhard Kostner as the founding Editor-in-Chief of ALR. Prof. Kostner is a distinguished figure in lipid research, with decades of contributions to the study of lipoproteins and cardiovascular risk. Based at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, he has made seminal discoveries in Lp(a) metabolism and structure, and his work has significantly influenced how the scientific community understands and investigates this complex lipoprotein particle. Under his editorial leadership, ALR is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality and fostering a rigorous and collaborative scientific dialogue around Lp(a).
Editor-in-Chief
Prof. Gerhard Kostner
The journal welcomes a broad spectrum of contributions including original research, review articles, perspectives, short communications, and clinical trial updates that advance the understanding and clinical management of Lp(a). Topics include (but are not limited to):
• Molecular structure and genetics of Lp(a)
• Pathophysiological mechanisms and disease associations
• Epidemiological insights and population studies
• Advances in therapeutic targeting and drug development
• Clinical guidelines, risk stratification, and patient management strategies
• Diagnostic technologies and biomarker development
We are honored to be supported by an internationally recognized Editorial Board comprising leading experts in lipid metabolism, cardiovascular disease, genetics, and preventive medicine. Their expertise will help shape the journal's editorial vision and ensure the highest standards of scientific rigor and relevance.
We warmly invite you to submit your work to ALR and contribute to this timely and essential scientific conversation.
