Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues, Innovative solutions for sustainable design and operation for the built environment encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of cutting-edge methodologies, technologies, and practices aimed at fostering sustainability within the realms of architectural design, construction, and operation. The scope of this session includes but is not limited to, advancements in green building materials, energy-efficient systems, renewable energy integration, smart building technologies, and sustainable urban planning strategies. Additionally, the scope extends to innovative approaches for optimizing resource utilization, minimizing environmental impact, enhancing occupant health and well-being, and promoting resilience against climate change and natural disasters. By adopting a multidisciplinary perspective, this session aims to spotlight groundbreaking solutions that not only tackle present challenges but also proactively anticipate and adapt to future sustainability requirements within the built environment.

Note: The extended versions of papers submitted and presented during the special session on 'Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Design and Operation in the Built Environment' at the 20th International Conference on Machine Design and Production will be featured in this special issue. However, papers not presented at the conference are also welcome for submission to this special issue.
