The Inaugural Editorial Board Meeting of ACRT was Successfully Held!
On December 4, 2025, the inaugural online Editorial Board Meeting of Ageing and Cancer Research & Treatment (ACRT) was successfully held, marking a significant milestone in the journal's development. The meeting was chaired by Rachel, Associate Publisher of Science Exploration Press and Managing Editor of ACRT. Editors-in-Chief Prof. Xingzhi Xu and Prof. Baohua Liu delivered opening remarks, warmly welcoming the newly appointed board members and presenting the journal's founding mission and long-term vision.
The meeting was honored by the participation of several members of the Advisory Editorial Board, including Prof. Vera Gorbunova, Prof. Stephen Kowalczykowski (Member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences), Prof. Gerd Pfeifer (AAAS Fellow), Prof. Tamar Tchkonia, and Prof. Zhongjun Zhou. Associate Chief Editors Dr. Vincent Géli and Prof. Zhenkun Lou, along with 26 Editorial Board Members and Early-Career Board Members, also joined the event. Editorial office representatives - Rachel, Alice, and Lila - attended in full.
This inaugural meeting officially launches the work of ACRT's Editorial Board. Attendees reviewed the journal's current progress and held in-depth discussions on strategic priorities, including strengthening the journal's development goals, attracting high-quality submissions, advancing Special Issue planning, and enhancing academic influence. The experts provided valuable guidance and reached a strong consensus on the journal's near-term priorities and long-term direction.
The successful convening of this meeting lays a solid foundation for ACRT's future growth and further elevates its commitment to advancing research at the intersection of ageing and cancer.

The meeting agenda included an overview of the publisher, updates on the journal's progress, and an open discussion on future development. Firstly, Rachel briefed attendees on the publisher's recent progress. She also provided an overview of ACRT's publishing model, editorial board development, yearly progress, and future plans, and expressed sincere appreciation to the board members for their contributions in peer review, promotion, and Special Issue development.


In the open discussion session, board members engaged in constructive exchanges on the journal's current challenges and future priorities. Key topics included strategies for inviting high-quality submissions, enhancing the novelty and timeliness of content, progress toward database indexing, and strengthening the journal's international visibility through academic events and the publication of selected abstracts

Editors-in-Chief Prof. Xingzhi Xu and Prof. Baohua Liu concluded the meeting by thanking all members for their active participation and continued support, outlining the next-stage priorities and reaffirming the shared commitment to building a high-impact academic platform.
The successful convening of this inaugural Editorial Board Meeting has charted a clear course for ACRT's next stage of development and injected fresh momentum into its growth. With the concerted efforts of the editorial board and the editorial office, ACRT is well positioned to further enhance its academic quality and international visibility, and to grow into a leading platform for advancing research at the intersection of ageing and cancer.
