On April 25, 2025, Ageing and Cancer Research & Treatment (ACRT) held its held its first webinar, titled "Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment Mediated by Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells and their Targeting". The event drew over 13,000 international viewers, underscoring the growing interest in this critical area of cancer research.

The webinar featured a keynote presentation by Prof. Viktor Umansky from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, with Prof. Rafael Solana from the University of Cordoba serving as the host. The event was also supported by Prof. Graham Pawelec, Editor-in-Chief of ACRT, and Prof. Raquel Tarazona, Editorial Board Member.

During the insightful lecture, Prof. Umansky explained how Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells (MDSC) are generated, activated, and enriched under chronic inflammation and tumor progression. He emphasized the potential of targeting MDSCs as a powerful approach for combinatorial tumor immunotherapy.

Following Prof. Umansky's lecture, the experts engaged in a lively discussion prompted by two questions raised by Prof. Tarazona:
1.Does the aging process affect MDSCs?
2.Does TLR4 polymorphism affect the induction of MDSCs from monocytes?
