About EMBO and EMBL

Founded in 1964, EMBO supports excellence in the life sciences through funding programs, training initiatives, scientific meetings, and the publication of high-impact journals, including The EMBO Journal and EMBO Reports.

Established in 1974, EMBL is an intergovernmental research institution comprising six research sites across Europe. Its research spans structural biology, advanced imaging, genomics, systems biology, and bioinformatics. EMBL-EBI maintains globally used biological data resources, including Ensembl and UniProt.

The EMBO-EMBL partnership is internationally recognized for its scientific rigor and its pivotal role in enabling global exchange among researchers.
