On April 15, 2025, Science Exploration Press is pleased to announce the official launch of its new open-access journal, Ferroptosis and Oxidative Stress (FOS). FOS is a peer-reviewed journal focusing on the mechanisms and functions of ferroptosis and oxidative stress in health and disease. The journal provides a platform for high-quality research and reviews in areas such as lipid peroxidation, iron metabolism, redox signaling, antioxidant defenses, and their roles in cancer, neurodegeneration, inflammation, and aging.

Professor Douglas R. Green

We are honored to welcome Dr. Douglas R. Green as the founding Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Green is Chair of the Department of Immunology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences. He is widely recognized for his seminal contributions to the understanding of cell death pathways, particularly apoptosis and regulated necrosis, and his work continues to shape the field's future directions.

"FOS provides a focused platform for advancing research on ferroptosis - an iron-dependent, oxidative form of cell death - and its roles in health and disease. By integrating redox biology, lipid metabolism, and cell death mechanisms, the journal supports the development of diagnostics and targeted therapies. FOS aims to lead this fast-evolving field through high-impact, interdisciplinary research."

The journal is supported by a diverse and internationally recognized editorial board comprising 20 Editors from premier institutions across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Their combined expertise spans ferroptosis, redox biology, cell signaling, cancer, neurodegeneration, aging, metabolism, and inflammation.
