Wei Huang is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a foreign member of both the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE). He is also a Fellow of Asia-Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM), ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), and International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS). He is a leading scientist in flexible electronics, with long-standing contributions to organic electronics, plastic electronics, bioelectronics, printed electronics, energy electronics, health electronics, smart electronics, and flexible electronics.
Professor Huang is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of several influential journals, including Research, npj Flexible Electronics, and FlexMat. He served as President of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP), and as Executive Committee Member and Senior Advisor to the President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Optical Society of America, the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the Chinese Optical Society, the Chinese Chemical Society, the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, and the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering.
Professor Huang has authored over 1,000 publications, with an H-index of 189 and over 180,000 citations (Web of Science). He has been consistently recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate in Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science. He also holds over 1,000 invention patents in China, the USA, and Singapore.
