Prof. Xingzhi Xu and Prof. Baohua Liu Serve as the New Editors-in-Chief of Ageing and Cancer Research & Treatment
Ageing and Cancer Research & Treatment (ACRT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Xingzhi Xu and Professor Baohua Liu from Shenzhen University as the new Editors-in-Chief. Their leadership marks a significant step forward in the journal’s mission to advance cutting-edge research in the intersecting fields of ageing, cancer biology, and translational medicine.
About Professor Xingzhi Xu
• Distinguished Professor and Executive Director of Shenzhen University Medical School
• Leading figure in the field of DNA damage response (DDR) and genome stability
Professor Xu has devoted his career to understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying DNA repair, replication stress, and cancer development. He is a founding organizer of the Annual International Conference on DNA Damage Response and Human Disease (since 2010) and established the Beijing Key Laboratory for DNA Damage Response. As a central convener in China’s DDR research community, Professor Xu has published over 100 research articles in prestigious journals such as Molecular Cell, Cell Research, and Nucleic Acids Research.
About Professor Baohua Liu
• Distinguished Professor and Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Shenzhen University
• Founding Director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory for Systemic Aging and Health Maintenance
• Secretary-General of the Asian Association for Aging Research and Vice-Chair of major aging-related academic societies in China
Professor Liu is a renowned expert in the biology of ageing and intervention strategies. His research has been widely recognized, with influential publications in Nature Medicine, Nature Aging, Nature Metabolism, Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, Cell Metabolism, Science Advances. Some of his papers have been cited over 560 times, highlighting the impact of his work.
The addition of Professors Xu and Liu brings strong academic leadership and innovative energy to ACRT. Under their guidance, the journal will continue to uphold rigorous, efficient, and open editorial standards, striving to become a leading international platform in ageing and cancer research.
