The First China Region Editorial Board Meeting of BME Horizon Successfully Held
On July 14 and July 19, 2025, BME Horizon (BMEH) convened its first Editorial Board meetings for the China region in two sessions, with a total of 24 Board Members in attendance. The meetings served as a platform for academic exchange and strategic planning aimed at strengthening the journal’s editorial direction and enhancing its academic impact.
The session commenced with introductions from all participating Editorial Board Members, who briefly outlined their primary research areas and disciplinary expertise, fostering stronger mutual understanding and paving the way for future collaborative efforts.
Professor Buyong Ma, Editor-in-Chief of BMEH, delivered the opening remarks, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the continued support and contributions from the Editorial Board.
Lijun Jin, Publisher of Science Exploration Press, provided an update on the progress and strategic initiatives of the publishing company, emphasizing its ongoing support for academic excellence and international dissemination.
Managing Editor Mengli Wang then delivered a comprehensive report outlining the recent progress of BMEH, including advances in publication output, the successful launch of several Special Issues, the organization of high-impact webinars, the release of featured expert interviews, and the steady expansion of the editorial team. She extended sincere acknowledgment to Editorial Board Members for their outstanding contributions in areas such as manuscript solicitation, peer review, and academic outreach. Looking ahead, Ms. Wang presented the journal’s future development plans, with an emphasis on ensuring stable publication, refining content strategy, fostering international collaboration, curating thematic issues, coordinating academic events, and actively pursuing inclusion in leading scientific databases.
The second half of the meeting was devoted to an open discussion session, during which Editorial Board Members candidly addressed several key challenges currently faced by the journal. Participants actively contributed constructive suggestions to tackle these issues, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the journal’s development.
The Editorial Office sincerely appreciated the valuable input and reaffirmed its dedication to continuously optimizing operational workflows, strengthening academic quality, and building a cohesive and dynamic editorial team. This meeting not only helped align strategic goals among the Editorial Board but also laid a stronger foundation for BMEH advancement as a high-impact, globally oriented journal in biomedical engineering and interdisciplinary research.
