On August 27, 2025, Science Exploration Press officially announced the launch of Myeloid Cells, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the study of myeloid biology in health and disease. Myeloid cells—including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and granulocytes—play essential roles in immunity, tissue homeostasis, and pathology. With advances in single-cell technologies, imaging, and multi-omics, the complexity and therapeutic relevance of myeloid populations are being uncovered at unprecedented depth. Myeloid Cells provides a forum for integrating discoveries from fundamental biology with translational and clinical research, aiming to accelerate progress toward innovative diagnostics and therapies.

The Founding Editors-in-Chief of Myeloid Cells are Prof. Florent Ginhoux and Prof. Lai Guan Ng. Prof. Ginhoux is based at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, while Prof. Ng is at Westlake University, China. Both are internationally recognized leaders whose pioneering work has significantly advanced the understanding of myeloid cell biology. Under their leadership, the journal will provide a high-impact platform for cutting-edge research, fostering global collaboration and driving innovation in the field.

The journal welcomes manuscripts covering theoretical, experimental, preclinical, translational, and clinical aspects of myeloid cell research. Key research areas include, but are not limited to:

• Ontogeny, differentiation, and lineage plasticity of myeloid cells
• Myeloid cell heterogeneity and transcriptional regulation
• Roles in immunity, inflammation, tissue repair, and homeostasis
• Myeloid-driven pathologies in infection, autoimmunity, cancer, and metabolic disease
• Systems biology, single-cell, and multi-omics approaches to myeloid biology
• Myeloid cell interactions with tissue and stromal environments
• Biomarker discovery and diagnostic applications
• Myeloid-targeted therapeutics, including immunotherapies and regenerative medicine
• Preclinical and clinical trial studies involving myeloid-directed interventions
• Ethical, societal, and regulatory considerations in translational myeloid research

Myeloid Cells publishes original research articles, reviews, short communications, perspectives, editorials, and commentaries to serve a diverse scientific and clinical community.
