Special Issue Information

Bones are essential components of the human body, forming the most abundant hard tissue. With the increasing life expectancy of the global population, there is a growing demand for load-bearing metal biomaterials to replace or repair bones and enhance dental implantology. These biomaterials are typically designed to support and stabilize bones or joints and must demonstrate long-term durability after implantation in the human body.

This Special Issue invites contributions focused on the development of novel alloys, the characterization of their mechanical properties, microstructure, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, and surface modification, as well as studies involving practical applications. By examining various types of metal biomaterials, their microstructural features, fabrication processes, surface modification techniques, and more, this issue seeks to explore optimization strategies to improve biocompatibility, mechanical performance, and other critical properties. Our aim is to provide valuable insights to guide the development of safer, more effective, and personalized metal biomaterials.
